Last Minute

At the final hour of the clock, elation & melancholy clashes,
In front of my eyes, taken back to bygone splashes.
Thou walked ahead the way, I trailing in thy serene shadow.
Thee sheltering shade no longer shields me tomorrow.

Waving goodbye, glancing at the glass of steed,
No more departing gestures; in the past, it did lead.
Thine unanticipated arrival in ascenseur travel,
This voyage, alas, shall be inscribed in the novel.

Thy captivating and alluring gaze, I irresistibly drawn,
Significant indignation, infrequent grin, like the dawn.
Quizzical eyebrows, twinkling eyes beckon to stare again,
Timely words of hope and help, a bridge over troubled terrain.

Like a parched desert waiting for rain, ached for the embrace,
Mine heart’s lamenting echoes pale in the vast expanse.
It’s time for beacon light to flare up in the night sky,
Fading star loses the way in inky darkness, just for you.
