My Reed’s Power

I’m not gonna lose my temper
I’d prefer the silence
My heart is strong enough
to avoid the violence.

Yet nobody feels my heart
When it sobs and weeps
The world around me thinks
I take a restful sleep.

Perhaps you laugh to scorn,
puzzled about the ‘new me’.
I’m the one who was petty for you
now you’ll see me catching a frisbee.

I keep a sword of words,
I’m not a fighter, though
I shoot my target in the eye
with my quill like a crossbow.

The more you know me
The more you get thunderbolts
If you find yourself injurèd,
Just try to think of your faults.

So, be vigilant of me
For I have a sharp arrow
Beware of my reed’s power
I can make you a villain or a hero.

    • That’s very kind of you. Every word of yours bloomed a world of enthusiasm in my heart. These words give a lot of stability to keep going with my pen.
