Summary

In a tale of lost love, enduring friendship, and the pursuit of dreams, Sheena and Debanjali's unbreakable bond transcends life's divergent paths. Sandip's arrival sparks memories, but choices and fate keep them apart. Amidst struggles, they seek solace, while Rahul and Debanjali's family thrives. Destiny reunites them, but can they bridge the chasm between them?

Sheena gets ready and while leaving she says that would return in the evening as she is going for an important work.

Rahul discussed with Sandip,” we know your mother is having a problem with Sheena’s son, but the thing is if you are having the same, discuss with Sheena and come out of this relationship. It will hurt her, but it will be good for her. But I think you don’t have. She is a struggling but strong single mother and being a woman, your mother should understand it too. And you shouldn’t think much about the society, what it’s saying. And the most important question,” are you ready to fight all this?”

Sandip,” I can’t go against mother and society, but I want to stand by her side. I don’t know what to do.”

Debanjali,” don’t stress, San cool down and think. Actually, you both have the problem of what to do next.”

Rahul: “But I am very sorry to say this if his mother goes on doing like this, San has to come out”.

Sheena shouted from inside, “he won’t do this”.

By the time they were conversing, Sheena came and overheard all this. Tears rolled down her cheeks. She lost her temper, “he would never do that, would never leave anything for me, it’s only the words”, went towards Sandip,” I want to talk to you”.

Debanjali gave a strange look towards her friend. Her eyes had become red as she was going on crying continuously, she ran inside and shut the door loudly.

Sandip,” I have to make her understand, I have to take a firm decision. I can’t let her down after all she has faced. I have to keep my words.”

After some minutes, Sheena came out with her luggages and her son.

Debanjali,” what happened? Where are you going and why?”

Sheena,” I am not the same as yours that I can bear all this, so I have taken transfer from the office and am going to Shimla.”

Rahul,” don’t take the decision in a hurry.”

Sheena,” this is my final decision. Will keep in touch and meet all of you.”

She reached Shimla and started staying in a women’s hostel. One day a nun noticed her and talked to her. She told all about her and the reason for her coming there. Side by side, also started teaching in a school and did her own works. Her son Angshu was admitted to school in Shimla. She got a promotion in the bank for her excellent performance.

Rahul and Debanjali couldn’t contact her for two years. In a hurry, Sandip’s mother had arranged for his marriage, and he had also lost hope. He thought and was talking to Debanjali, “a girl who didn’t try to understand me nor was with me in my struggles couldn’t be my life partner. One side understanding and love isn’t enough.” Debanjali had no words left to reply to him back as she understood what Sheena wanted.

Angshu had closely seen his mother’s struggle. Sheena made her mind strong and promised herself for not mentioning a word about love. Their life started to flow in two different ways. Sandip got a freelance job of photography in the foreign. While Sheena was very good at painting and had arranged for an exhibition in Hyderabad, she discussed with other friends whom she had met in her exhibition and started thinking about arranging events with this group. She was very happy about her small achievements, and also both of them got to know about each other’s success.

Rahul was worried about Sheena’s whereabouts. They could finally connect with Sheena and got to know all about her. They were happy and once again tried to convince her about her relationship. She told about her final decision once again.

Another few months went by, Sandip heard about the new boss arrived in their department to look after their project. Previously, Sandip and Sheena worked in the same building construction company. They were all eager to meet the new boss. Sandip was the project head. Some signs were required, so he went to take them.

Entering the main cabin, he didn’t notice and kept those documents. He was astonished to discover their boss was none other than Sheena. He was about to call her by name, but she remained very strict and refused to recognize him and told to continue the works.

Sandip came back, became very disappointed, and was not able to concentrate. In the lunch break, Sheena came out of her cabin to ask one employee to submit a pending project; he was going to talk to her but she ignored and warned him. He blamed her for not respecting him; it didn’t matter to her anymore.

Some gossiped about them about their relationship in the office but she clearly told them their marriage had broken. Some told her to forget, as she deserved a good partner, some told she shouldn’t go by his looks and should remember the insults that had been done, she should love herself.

It wasn’t easy for her to forget the love and arguments. She was ready to forgive him as she wanted to love him from her side endlessly. It was nobody’s fault. Both lived with memories whether it be good or bad. Several thoughts went on. Both got passes from their colleagues for Basant Utsav. Usually when they both returned home somewhere down their mind thought about each other, sometime before she had again started talking to each other but that on chats none were satisfied with that but Sandip wanted and waited eagerly to meet her by any chance someday, but she gave some excuses.

She went with her college friends to the festival but was looking for someone, some asked her but she denied, participated in some competitions for singing and recitation. At last colors began to spread all over, and the first colors along with flowers dropped on Sheena from Sandip’s hands. They stared at each other as had many words left to tell each other.

Their eyes shinned with tears. They went near the swimming pool where others were enjoying, but they were standing facing opposite sides to each other with lots of frustration of years to tell. They made the moment to talk to each other, but Sheena couldn’t tell untold words. She sometimes decided whether it was her infatuation or not and thought several times she would choose him again or not. Realized those days would never return, she tried for months to forget him, cried, regretted why she met him. She decided boldly life couldn’t go on like this but permanently she had taken a firm decision.

Side by side, Debanjali got a job of content writing. Every day she also had to struggle with her marriage and looking after their child. But she tried her best and didn’t lose hope. Rahul used to stay at home twice a week to look after the house and the child, and they also kept a nanny and vice versa in case of Debanjali. Their child Veer liked looking at the night sky and asked so many questions. At the end of the day, they did dinner together, were a complete happy family now.

On a Saturday evening, Sheena and her partner went out for a long ride. She was happy in the evening ride, they appeared suddenly in front of Debanjali’s flat. They were surprised to see them together. On midnight while returning from their house, they unfortunately faced an accident. The people sent them to the hospital. One of them got the phone, saw a pinned number and called on it on the thought of informing their relatives.

Deepak was totally shocked, they reached the hospital as fast as possible. Both were unconscious, Debanjali and Rahul got to meet them the next morning, they were blaming themselves and waited outside the room the whole night. The doctor told the situation was critical, but both of them didn’t go into a coma. When they finally met, the nurse told Sandip would be paralyzed for some months, it could be cured by physiotherapy. Sheena was injured in the hands and in her feet, she was advised for total bed rest for some weeks.

After some days, when Rahul visited again, the doctor told Sheena was unconscious for the past two days, Sandip continued to wait in the corridor of the hospital on the wheelchair till she regained consciousness. It seemed as if his life got stuck seeing Sheena in that condition. On the other hand, both because of their ego were not ready to be together. The four friends understood each other’s mind very well.

Slowly as time was passing by, Debanjali and Rahul’s child was growing up. Debanjali had a very tight working schedule in her office. Even after coming home, she had to work to complete the other tasks. Meanwhile, Rahul witnessing all these, cooked for them and while she was working fed her with his own hands. She felt a warm feeling towards him. She could only do is to feed their child at night once; hardly could she sleep. They always shared with each other the difficulties, tension they faced in their everyday life and brought out the solution how to overcome it.

They had admitted their daughter in a school, she always remained very curious and had several questions to ask. At first she didn’t agree again for a small outing. Debanjali, “I don’t feel like going outside in this rain.” Sheena, “We will take our car, you need to refresh your mind.”
